Sycamore resident urges the public to speak out on gay marriage legislation

Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, we hold these truths to be self-evident; they are not.
On Tuesday, Nov. 3, the people of Maine voted yes on Question One vetoing legislation that would have legalized gay marriage, a right all Americans should have and most take for granted. Life is love. Liberty is freedom from control. Happiness is joy. These freedoms were never intended to be voted upon; this fundamental human right, has once again been taken away. This is a call to arms. In the name of love, stand up, shout out, tell the world this will not stand! There are only four questions of value in life. What is sacred? Of what is the spirit made? What is worth living for? What is worth dying for? The answer to each is the same: only love. You have a voice. In a country where only 35% of the population votes, it is strong. Take the time to talk to your local representatives, write your congressmen. Stand up in the name of love.
