Monetary struggles are not restricted to black community
By

In response to the article about race in Monday’s issue, I think it is completely ridiculous. I know plenty of white people who struggle everyday just to make it to next week. I grew up in south Chicago where I was the minority and when I come out here people look at me crazy for some of the things I say or some of the things I do.

If our high school education was paid for by the government, black students’ were, as well. Just because we are white does not mean we receive free money.

Every community struggles. I still wonder how students drive around in Jaguars with $2,000 rims when I can barely afford gas. I know many black people who have had life a lot easier than me and have a better education because the government funds it. More props to you if you can get it.

But stop adding to the stereotype. I am not in school to be popular; I’m here to learn how to deal with people who still can not get over the issues of race.
