Mobile home collapses at Evergreen Village
By ALAN EDRINN
A mobile home collapsed on two people Saturday afternoon at Evergreen Village Mobile Home Park.

About 1:30 p.m., three people were trying to raise the trailer higher because of previous flooding problems at the park, 955 E. State St., using concrete blocks when the trailer shifted and fell on them. One person was trapped underneath the trailer, and the second crawled out, according to a DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office news release. The third person was not underneath the trailer and was not injured, according to the release.

DeKalb and Sycamore Fire Departments responded to the scene, along with DeKalb County Sheriff Deputies.

Responding agencies could not be reached for comment Sunday afternoon, and the status and names of the victims were not listed on the release.

The mobile home park was flooded in mid-September following high rain fall forcing some residents to evacuate until Sept. 18. The park was also evacuated following flooding in August 2007.
