Support Huskies and start red towel trend
By LETTER WRITER
Some people may have noticed the football players waving towels on the sidelines to try and get the crowd into the football game on Saturday. Coach Jerry Kill spoke in his press conference about this event and also spoke of how the crowd helped factor into the outcome of the game against Miami. Many of us are talking about how we would like to join the football players in this waving of towels to try and invigorate the crowd at Huskie Stadium. We have a new coaching staff and a football team that needs our support. We would like to encourage all fans to bring something red that they can wave or twirl in the air when the team runs out on the field, and while the team is on defense. It doesn’t have to be a towel, it can be anything: a shirt, a piece of fabric, a jacket, a hat...whatever is handy.
We are hoping that this will catch on with all fans and become a new tradition at Huskie Stadium to add to the already spectacular tradition of the RED/BLACK Chant. We would love to see it become so much a part of Huskie tradition that the VCB begins to sell RED WAVE towels.
The Huskies play the Toledo Rockets this Saturday at 3 p.m. We have not beat the Rockets at home since 1989. Bring your red towel to this Saturday’s game against Toledo to get the RED WAVE tradition started! GO HUSKIES! BEAT TOLEDO!
Thanks!
