
The Northern Illinois High School Journalist of the Year awards are given annually to graduating seniors by the Northern Illinois Newspaper Association. Scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who demonstrate the standards of honesty, integrity, attention to detail, hard work, creativity and an understanding and commitment to quality community journalism.

marketing or advertising representatives, or graphic designers at high school newspapers or professional news publications.Applicants must submit a copy of their transcripts -- which must
include GPA. They also must submit a letter of recommendation
from a high school counselor, newspaper adviser or professional
supervisor; a portfolio of published newspaper work; an autobiographical essay that includes a description of career
goals; a completed application form. Deadline was March 15, 2003.
